Sealer

Grout begins absorbing dirt and grease immediately after installation, as does marble, slate, concrete, pavers, and other porous material if not protected with the correct sealer. Even with regular mopping, the grout and floor surface can look uneven and dirty which can spoil the look of a whole room.

We do not use sealers sold at local home improvement stores. We have tested many of them and do not feel those products are professional grade. However, we do offer several different sealers depending on the surface and what is needed to restore your surface. It could be a simple clear seal, an enhanced look, a topical coating on your slate or a color seal to change the color of your grout. All options are discussed at the time of our visit. We will help you choose the correct application for your project..

Our clear sealer seals all grout and natural stone.    It cannot be removed and will not wear out. Through hydrogen bonding, it actually becomes part of the surface. Since the sealer is invisible, it does not change the appearance of most surfaces. Unaffected by any cleaner, it is chemically insensitive and also breathable to allow subsurface dampness to evaporate. 

Most other sealers do not attach themselves to the building lattice of the material is it applied to.   When a standard tile cleaner is used or aggressive cleaning actions are taken the sealer is washed away.  Before you know it, you have a real mess and can no longer get the grout clean again.   As always,  staining materials should still be cleaned up as soon as possible. Stain resistance means you have a little more time to pick up a spill.
